EMCDDA. Xchange — one year on
Since its launch in October last year, Xchange — the EMCDDA’s online registry of evidence-based prevention programmes — has been showcasing interventions that European evaluation studies demonstrate to have beneficial outcomes relating to substance use. In addition to providing information on the effectiveness of programmes, the registry — available on the EMCDDA Best practice portal — also offers information on the experiences of professionals who have implemented these programmes in individual European countries. This month, the Xchange Review Board met in Lisbon and discussed the inclusion of additional entries on substance use, as well as new entries targeting other risky behaviours, such as delinquency and violence. As a result, 15 new programmes will soon be added to the registry: four on substance use and 11 on crime and delinquency. (EMCDDA, Lissabon, Oktober 2018)
